Son of Shri Hari Ram; born at Khanyara Distt. Kangra on June 25, 1951; Intermediate; educated at Degree College Dharamshala; married; Businessman.

Remained Member, Bhartiya Jan Sangh and Janata Party before being associated with the BJP.

Elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1990, 1993 and 1998 as BJP candidate. Remained Transport and Tribal Development Minister, 1998-2003.

Elected again to State Assembly in December, 2007; and re-appointed as Transport Minister on 09-01-2008.
