Achivements

The main aim of the Housing Board is to develop the housing colonies at various places of the State under different housing schemes like Social Housing Schemes, Self Financing Schemes, Rental Housing Schemes for HP Government employees, Police Personnel by taking loan from Financial Institutions like HUDCO, National Housing Bank.  Board has also executed prestigious deposit projects of Tourism, Urban Development, Education Department, Jawahar Navodya Vidyalayas & DIETs etc.The Board has developed an industrial township at Parwanoo, which is the Gateway to Himachal Pradesh.  Undoubtedly, Parwanoo is the only industrial township in the State, where Board has created the compact infrastructure required for an industrial township i.e. planned industrial plots, residential and commercial complexes.  The Board can also take credit for planning and construction of some of the prestigious projects like designing and construction of H.P.  Institute of Public Administration complexes at Fairlawns near Shimla, Hotel Holiday Home at Shimla, other hotels of Tourism department at Parwanoo, Mandi and Paonta Sahib.  Commercial complexes at Mandi and Hamirpur. District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) Buildings and Hostel at Shimla, Chamba, Mandi, Nahan, Solan, Kullu & Una at a cost of nearly 7.00 crores. TRISEM Hostel for RID department, 80 staff quarters for Board of School Education Dharamsala at a cost of over 2.00 crores, Jawahar Navodya Vidyalyas at Nahan, Una, Paprola & Pandoh at a cost of nearly 10.00 crores, 8 Nos. barracks and other allied buildings of jail at Kanda near Shimla. For providing adequate shelter to the poor hill people of this Pradesh, Social as well as Self Financing  Housing Colonies have been set up at Shimla (Knollswood, Jakhoo, Kelston, Strawberry Hills, Shoghi and Sanjauli), Rampur & Rohroo in Shimla district , Parwanoo, Baddi, Solan in Solan district Nahan, Paonta Sahib in Sirmour district, Una & Bangana in Una District, Palampur, Dharamsala, Kangra, Indora, Kandrori, Nurpur & Dehra in Kangra District, Mandi & Sundernagar in Mandi District, Bilaspur in Bilaspur District, Hamirpur phase-I, II & III, Nayanagar in Hamirpur District. Under the various HUDCO housing schemes, the Board has so far constructed 8817 houses/flats and 1975 plots for all categories of people.  Besides above, Housing Board has constructed 44 Nos. prestigious commercial office blocks at Kasumpti for housing Directorate offices of various departments of HP Government.  In addition to this 136 Nos. shops, 7 Nos. commercial spaces, 3 Nos. Godowns, 1 No. Restaurant and 1 Canteen building at Kullu are also its achievements.
